On July 11 and 12, the II National Meeting of University Coexistence Commissions will be held in the Historic Building of the University of Oviedo.

On June 27, 2024 at 6:30 p.m., the event "Nobel Prize Conversations: The impossible takes longer" will be organized at the headquarters of the Ramón Areces Foundation.
It will be attended by George Smoot (Nobel Prize in Physics 2006) and Katalin Karikó, (Nobel Prize in Medicine 2023).
Subsequently, a colloquium will be opened by Mara Dierssen, a world expert in the field of Down syndrome research. The dialogue will be moderated by Adam Smith, scientific director of Nobel Prize Outreach.

Today the Assembly of the Asturias Smart City Cluster is held in the Assembly Hall of the multipurpose building of the Polytechnic School of Engineering of Gijón, on the Viesques campus.
In addition to the Assembly Act with the partners, there will be a presentation open to the public, by Pablo Arboleda, director of the Smart Cities Chair, under the title: “Management of Flexibility in electricity distribution networks. Challenges and solutions for electrification”.
Castroalonso, holding the vice-presidency of the Board of Directors, is part of the day.
Yesterday the conference "Face Up Project. Proposals for the 21st century with roots in the 19th century. From benefits policies to social impact", public presentation of the Face Up project (Factory Cities of Europe: United in Partnership). The meeting took place at the Asturias Railway Museum.

From 18 to 21 June, INCIBE's virtual reality experience, PassVRord, will be open to the public in the square of the cathedral of Oviedo from 9-14 and 16.30-19.30h.
The tent will have a training area where, through a series of training pills, basic cybersecurity guidelines will be learned to apply in our daily lives.
On the other hand, there will be a gamification area that will allow attendees to live an immersive experience with virtual reality glasses focused on solving cybersecurity challenges related to everyday life.

Between June 18 and 20, 2024, the IV edition of the C1b3rWall Congress will take place at the National Police Academy of Spain. University of Oviedo’s “Castroalonso” Chair of Cybersecurity & Digital Landscape is one of the sponsors of the event.

On June 26 and 27, the event "Defence Industrial Strategy: Engine of reindustrialisation in Spain" will take place, organised by the Government of the Principality of Asturias through the Sekuens Agency in collaboration with UGT FICA and the Anastasio de Gracia Foundation, in the Cannon workshop of the Arms Factory of La Vega (Oviedo).
Castroalonso will be present as a member of the Asturias Hub de Defensa.
On June 18 at 12:00 p.m., the conference "Face Up Project. Proposals for the 21st century with roots in the 19th century. From benefits policies to social impact", which will be the public presentation of the Face Up project (Factory Cities of Europe: United in Partnership). The meeting will take place at the Asturias Railway Museum.
The aim of the project is to create a network of European cities that explore their historical-industrial heritage together. The purpose is to raise public awareness and contribute to the debate on the future of Europe.
The presentation will be attended by the following companies as protagonists: Guppy, Bluco, Mar de Niebla, EProgram, i-Lanza, Panduru, Colegio San Lorenzo, Castroalonso, Acuña y Fombona, Caja Rural de Gijón, Alimerka and Real Grupo Cultural Covadonga.

The White Night was presented yesterday by Yolanda Alonso, Councillor for Culture and Promotion of the City of Avilés, Anabel Barrio, director of the Cultural Factory, Angélica García, owner of the Amaga Gallery, Santos González, Professor of Algebra at the University of Oviedo and director of the Castroalonso Chair, and José Manuel García, President of the UCAYC.
Among all the activities, we highlight the workshop on mathematics, cryptography and cybersecurity, organized by the Castroalonso Chair of Cybersecurity and Digital Environment of the University of Oviedo and directed by María Esther Lorenzo Fernández. It will take place on June 7 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at Avenida de Portugal, 13.

On May 31st, the VII Quality Conference will be held in the Assembly Hall of the University Hospital of Cabueñes.
Our partner Jaime López Martínez will be a speaker at the conference Oh, I’ve been hacked! which will take place between 12:30 and 13:30.
This event will also host the XVIII Edition of the Quality Plan Awards.
The General Assembly of AEFAS Members will be held on June 5 at the Hotel de la Reconquista in Oviedo.
The day will begin at 10:00 a.m. and will conclude with lunch at the hotel and we will be accompanied by representatives of companies such as ALSA, GAM and ESCRIBANO, as well as the presidents of the family business associations of Alicante, Castilla y León and a member of the Board of Directors of the Institute of Family Business.
