Port of Gijón strengthens its cyber resilience with Castroalonso’s collaboration in an offensive cybersecurity exercise

The Port Authority of Gijón has taken a new step in its strategy of innovation and digital security through a cyberattack simulation exercise, developed in collaboration with the specialized firm Castroalonso. This action, framed within the Gijón Azul project, reinforces the port's commitment as an advanced critical infrastructure and highlights its dedication to cyber resilience.

The controlled offensive exercise has made it possible to assess the security of Internet-exposed systems without affecting the port’s actual operations, identifying opportunities for improvement. These tests enable the anticipation and correction of weaknesses before potential attacks, strengthening the port’s capacity to guarantee service continuity. The collaboration with Castroalonso is part of the port’s commitment to innovation and public-private partnership within the Gijón Azul project, consolidating the Port of Gijón as a benchmark in cybersecurity and resilience within the port ecosystem of northern Spain.
